the stylish New Yorkers

StyleCaster photographed 50 New Yorkers and claimed to be the most stylish. I would definitely have to agree with some of them. Here are a few of my favourites.

Leigh Lezark, DJ/Model. This girl has beauty and talent and is an amazing socialite.

Leandra Medine, Fashion Blogger. The Man Repeller is such an amazing blog put together by Leandra. She has such good eye for style. Whether men like it or not.

Kelly Framel, Fashion Blogger. Another one of my favourites. She has already been in a couple of my blog posts, and her style is out of this world. Definitely and inspiration.

Annabel Tollman, Stylist. Ofcourse she's one of the most stylish. Poise, elegant, gorgeous.

Olivia Palermo, Model/Actress/Designer. Everywhere she goes she always looks amazing this girl. Check out her outfit in this photo shoot!

Luigi Tadini, Market Director of Paper Magazine. Not only is he good looking, he dresses well and is intelligent.

shop before the shop

Aritzia is blowing up more than ever, and it makes me proud to be apart of it and watch the Company grow! We have opened up our location in Soho. That's right, Soho in New York. Such an amazing achievement. Aritzia couldn't have picked a better location on Broadway and Spring! I want to be there NOW! ♥

trade an ex for a pair of jeans

Now that's what I'm talking about, but really it's about trading an ex-boyfriend's sweatshirt for a pair of new jeans. The best part is that it's free (except it's in New York). The whole concept is to bring in something that does not fit you anymore and exchange it with Levi's Curve ID jeans.

Bobbie Thomas will be giving fashion tips and answering questions, and the Levi's fit specialists will fit each woman in jeans that are specifically for her! This event will be tomorrow, Friday, August 27th at Bryant Park from 10am-9pm. <3

New York understands fashion lovers...

...and that's exactly why I should live there. Come September, NYC will be able to dump their clothes off for recycling. Their plan of action is to have 50 clothing bins in high traffic areas to get rid of the 190 000 plus tons of clothes which end up in their landfills. If this program works out, it may even go world wide!! Fashion x the 3 R's = perfection! I mean, every season, I raid my closet to get rid of clothes I haven't worn in ages or think I'll ever wear again. I don't throw them away though, I donate them to those in need. But still, this is a great idea. Plus I'm sure all those little vintage shops you shop at ends up throwing away the clothes which haven't been sold. <3

dull doll

Have I lost my inspiration? I've been so busy lately and I do apologize. I've been working like mad and in the times that I have off I'm studying or going to school and trying to let my social life not come to an end! Depressing? I think so! I know you hear about one of these apology messages every few months or so, but I haven't really found anything WORTH blogging about. It's just all the same junk that I frankly do not find important enough!

Tomorrow is Canada Day, which also means that the Harmonized Sales Tax will be in full effect. Which totally blows. That means my shopping expenses will go up, which means I really should be moving to New York where there's no tax and get away from a lying government over here who just looks out for themselves! To top that, they are adding the carbon tax on gas which means gas will be tres expensive. I mean Vancouver is already an expensive place to live and the government just keeps bulldozing their way whether people like it or not. So much for a voice or opinion when apparently it does NOTHING. Grr. So much for a "happy" birthday Canada. <3

reading tablets

I like the idea of these reading tablets because they are fabulously chic and are great on the environment. This is the Skiff Reader made by LG's Metal Foil e-Paper technology. It removes breakage found in other glass screens and has a full touch screen! The device will be sold by Sprint over 3G. There is also WiFi! <3

picture of the day: this so resembles ME!

I saw this and saved it right away. It's me right?!

happy thanksgiving to all you americans!

Thanksgiving is today for all the Americans, which means one thing. Tomorrow is BLACK FRIDAY! The day which is way better than our Boxing Day! I've strategically mapped out where to go and when, when the clock strikes midnight tonight. After work I'm heading down and going to have a shopping day! I'm a little scared to be honest, but I have a plan. A good shopper always goes in with a plan! And I'm determined to find my NYE dress down there. P.S. If you've wondered where I've been, I've been extremely sick. Yesterday was my first day out ever since last Friday. Lots of fun and it definitely was not my finest hour. <3

Do you want to be in the next Victoria's Secret fashion show?! I do! But I'm way to scared! Anyhow, Victoria's Secret is having a nationwide (US of course...) model search for the next Runway Angel.

The competition begins October 3 in New York City (it wouuuld be!) There will be 4 casting calls in Miami, LA, Chicago and of course NYC. For registration details click here. You can also enter online October 1 to October 24. Judges will choose 10 finalists to fly them to NYC for Angel Boot Camp.

The winner will be by viewer's choice, and they will walk in Victoria's Secret Fashion Show December 1 on CBS!!!!

more G to the wen

I wish I was in NYC right now. I mean Fashion Week is in full effect now and I would just loved to be immersed in the busyness! Anyhow, Gwen Stefani chose white nail polish for her models in her LAMB collection. HEY I've been doing that for a few years now! It's a tough colour to get but it's definitely sickkk! Yeah me and Gwen think alike. No biggie. hehe.<3

finding a job

Finding a job is tres difficult at the moment. And not just any plain old job, a job that suits me. I just want to be happy in doing what I want and I can't seem to find it here. I've been searching high and low, ever since summer started and even before that. But I can't see myself doing a lot of the things. Maybe I need to be less picky. Going to school and getting my diploma has made me feel like I'm qualified to do a lot, but at the same time, employers want experience and knowledge which is understandable. But how will I get the experience without working!? Ugh. So the job hunt begins....All the better to move away...<3

mark your calendars ladies!

On September 10 is the first night of Spring 2010 Fashion Week. Stores across 5 boroughs of NY and around the world stay open til 11pm to lure customers with designer, model and celebrity appearances, as well as fashion shows and other marvellous things.

Mayor Michael Bloomboer announced plans for the citywide initiative to boost retail sales as the economy is sliding. For more info go here. Those participating will be Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera, Tory Burch, Phillip Lim, Coach, and many other designers.
