outfit approval
Leighton Meister looks absolutely stunning in white head to ankle and her black booties. I'm so feeling the look. I guess you should never say never. I always hated the mix of just an all white & black outfit, but I'm digging the colour blocking. Especially how she presents it! ♥

who knew Lanvin could be made into scraps?
That would be the last thing on my mind!? Who would not treasure Lanvin like that?! Well if you didn't get your hands on the Lanvin x H&M collection you're in "luck" (if you consider this lucky). H&M is said to be turning (ruining) their Lanvin leftovers into a collection called Waste. This collection will only be in select stores. I wonder who will line up for this?! ♥

Sass & Bide RTW Spring 2011
Over the years I have fallen in love with pieces from Sass & Bide. The soft spring appeal this season blended in with neutral colours make this collection to die for! Here are my favourite pieces that I would LOVE to have in my wardrobe this spring! Check out the rest of the collection on Elle. ♥

r.i.p. Laurence Renard
Laurence Renard was crossing the street only a block away from her NYC apartment, and the French stylist was almost instantly killed on Wednesday night after being hit by a garbage truck. The 23 year old driver Diego Tapia-Ulloa was arrested with suspicion of not having a valid license. She is known for working with Abercrombie & Fitch and Victoria's Secret. ♥

David's Bridal x Vera Want
This is really exciting news for all you who are getting married. David's Bridal in the States is teaming with Vera Wang for her collection White by Vera Wang. The most expensive gown is $1400. So reasonable. I love the simplicity of the gowns, but there is so much detail! Dresses will roll out February 11th!
My favourite is the pink one, but in white. ♥

welcome to The Avenue
If you miss your fix of The City or The Hills, Toronto has their own version called The Avenue. It's quite interesting. The main character is gay, and is awfully pretty. My friend in Ryerson even has a small part in the first episode! It's interesting to see a Canadian "reality show" which is actually somewhat interesting. It has potential. ♥

rumour to reality
I know this is a very local Vancouver thing, but rumours are becoming reality for Forever 21. They are said to hit Robson Street, taking over Tsunami Susi, El Kartel and Aldo. Now that's prime location. It will be a two level store, but their still in the works of trying to work out the details. Not sure if Aldo will still be there or what. But this is a big deal! ♥

happy 1 year to the iPad
Wow, it's already been one year since the iPad has been released! How fast time goes by. I think it doesn't feel that long because there is still big hype over it. I don't know how Apple does it, but Happy Birthday iPad! ♥

Diesel Island
Diesel as in the brand. The rumour is they have purchased an island. Apparently fans of Diesel will be able to virtually shape laws, watch island life videos, meet those living on the island and visit their Wikipedia page. Diesel's publicists have confirmed that this is true. Still doesn't sound real though! Maybe it's a new guerilla marketing strategy. ♥

Vogue February 2011
As you know Valentines is just around the corner. Vogue decided to dedicate their issue to something called Love in the Trenches. It includes Alessandra Ambrosio, Anja Rubik, Coco Rocha, Angela Lindyall, Aminata Niara and Bonnie Chen with their other halfs. These ones are my favs! Especially the one with Coco Rocha. ♥

the expansion of Michael Kors
The CEO of Michael Kors, John Idol, and the designer himself, announced the lifestyle flagship store will be 610 Fifth Avenue. It will be 7000 square feet and have 15-foot ceilings with white marble floors and other typical Kors details.
Kors says, “The opening of my lifestyle flagship boutique at Rockefeller Center is an extremely humbling and exciting reality. As both a designer and a native New Yorker, what could be more incredible than a store in the heart of the city at Rockefeller Center?”
I would have to agree with his statement. Michael Kors will also have a Michael Kors Lifestyle location in Vancouver! Which I'm excited about. It will be in a beautiful building in Pacific Centre on Georgia and Granville. I guess ours is one of the 175 stores world wide. ♥
All On the Line
Everyone from The City, seems to be branching off and doing there own thing now that the show is completed. Joe Zee is continuing with his own television project, All On the Line. It will air March 29, 2011 at 10pm Eastern and Pacific. There will be eight episodes this season. The show is said to have established designers' collections and Joe Zee's role in offering advice to the designers. ♥

Daisy Lowe swimwear
Daisy Lowe will be designing vintage-inspired swimwear with brand Peacocks. Not only has she modeled for 5 collections for the brand, it is also designed by her mother Pearl (if you didn't know her step mom is Gwen Stefani). Her swimwear will have a 50's pin up theme and will be inspired by Bettie Page and Sophia Loren! My kinda style! Can't wait to see what she'll bring to the table! ♥

everything moving North
First Target, buying over Zellers, and now Antropologie coming to Vancouver! What is this madness. Rumour has it, it should be here Srping 2011 apparently at the old Urban Planet on South Granville. Thank God they got rid of that. I guess since it's little sister, Urban Outfitters moved here, they too would follow! ♥

Joe Zee no longer has to pick sides
As we knew from The City, Elle's PR director, Erin Kaplan was Olivia Palermo's rival. Anyhow, she is leaving the magazine as of tomorrow, and taking the position of senior director of PR at Teen Vogue. Quite the step she is taking. ♥

Gwen Stefani's lips to be famous
Gwen Stefani is joining Jennifer Lopez, Eva Longoria, and Beyonce for L'Oreal Paris. She will be the new face for the Infallible Le Rouge lip colour, and it should be released today during the Golden Globes!
Gwen says:
"I can't believe I get to be one of the L'Oreal Paris girls. I love playing dress up, on stage or shooting videos, it's always been one of my favorite parts of being in a band. To get to work with such a modern, talented group of people is really exciting. I'm a lucky, lucky girl."

Leighton Meester x Missoni
Leighton Meester's ads for Missoni have surfaced. Do we like them? A little bohemian, a little grunge, a little retro. I'm on the fence about this playful look for her but I guess she does have to break away from her "Blair Waldorf" image. Nonetheless, she is still gorgeous. ♥

Walmart here to stay?
I remember when I was in New York they were debating whether or not Walmart should really be in New York. The City seemed to be pushing them out. Because of this debate, Walmart has launched WalmartNYC.com to show New Yorkers that they are wanted. ♥

the naked mermaid
As Starbucks becomes more expensive, it seems like the famous mermaid is losing some of it's design. Starbucks will officially only have the mermaid soon enough as its logo. What do you think? Perhaps they'll make a mascot. ♥

H&M gives hope to bloggers
Yesterday, H&M announced that they were collaborating with fashion blogger Elin Kling from Style by Kling. Unfortunately, the collection will only be sold in Sweden on February 3rd. There will only be 9 garments and 2 accessories. A fairly small collection, but nonetheless, amazing! So jealous! ♥
