Karl Lagerfeld wants you to smell like books

Karl Lagerfeld owns over 300 000 books and owns a bookstore and publishing house in Paris called 7L. There are even plans to open one in New York. Since he has a history in the book business, he is teaming up with Steidl to create Paper Passion, which will be a perfume which smells like books. ♥

Take it from the fashion pr guru Kelly Cutrone. She is releasing another book, Normal Gets You Nowhere. She has created another book to rethink and reconstruct who you are. The book will hit stores May 3! ♥

feel free to use LOL and OMG in your school essay

Every year, Oxford English Dictionary releases new words which are worth to go in the dictionary. According to their blogpost, they are adding OMG and LOL. Believe it or not.

OMG: [OMG int. (and n.) and adj.]: ‘Oh my God’ (or sometimes ‘gosh’, ‘goodness’, etc.)
LOL: [LOL int. and n./2]: ‘laughing out loud’—are strongly associated with the language of electronic communications (email, texting, social networks, blogs, and so on)

Other words include other abbreviations such as IMHO (in my humble opinion), TMI (too much information), and BFF (best friends forever).

I don't even use those, and there's a bunch more on top of that?! What is going on in the dictionary world? ♥

Until February 18th, Marc Jacobs will have 2 Playboy bunnies as part of his Playboy -themed window display. It is inspired by Hugh Hefner's Playboy, 6 Volumes. The limited edition book is also available across the street at Bookmarc, and you can have your picture taken with the real Playboy bunnies wearing original costumes from the Playboy vault. There are also three different Marc Jacobs x Playboy tees you can choose from which are $35. All proceeds go to Designers Against Aids. ♥

the fame scavenger hunt

Jay-Z launched his first book on November 16th, Decoded. Released meaning in the neatest, most oddest possible way. The book was released in a scavenger hunt with pages of the book hidden in meaningful places to Jay-Z. Places include the bottom of the pool of the Delano hotel in Miami, under the Spotted Pig in NYC. The clues are revealed on Jay-Z.com, Bing and Jay-Z's Facebook and Twitter. Guccie revealed two of the pages in their windows on Fifth Avein their lining of a leather bomber jacket. When the book is finally released, the jacket will be given to Jay-Z. <3

Harper Bazaar's book of fashion

Yum! I would love to get my hands on this book. It is Harper's Bazaar Fashion: Your Guide to Personal Style. It includes fashionista's and fashionisto's input from DvF, John Galliano and more. Also there will be featured quotes and illustrations from Karl Lagerfeld, Vera Wang and Michael Kors to name a few. The book comes out November 2! So next week! Lauren Conrad x Style

Lauren Conrad is releasing a style book. She tells PEOPLE magazine, “The first book tour I went on, I had the opportunity to meet thousands and thousands of fans. The majority of the questions were about fashion. It was fun to share all the things I had learned.” The book will cover from everything from advice and photos along with personal stories, high school horror stories and day to day dressing style. The book will come out October 5, 2010. I think that her eyes look a little too harsh in the picture, but oh how we miss hearing from her!<3

I think it's getting a little out of hand. Anyone can write a book, start a clothing line, do what they want if they're famous. Miranda Kerr is adding to the bookshelf, by writing a book called Treasure Yourself. It's for young women and individuality. She's lucky she's pretty! <3

Taschen collector's edition Valentiono book

I want this $1200 book! It has 738 pages of drawings, magazine shoots, ads, portraits and documentary photographs of Valentino. It has Valentino red on the outside and costs about the same price as a bag by the fashion house. <3

The Teen Vogue Handbook

I came across this book online, but haven't seen the real thing in person... yet. BUT I'm dying to get my hands on it! Its The Teen Vogue Handbook: An Insider's Guide to Careers in Fashion. Sounds like just the book for me! The book has tips on the stylish life from those accelerating in the industry.

The book is known to have marvelous images, career advice and profiles of everyone and every aspect of the industry. There are even some big guys interviewed including Marc Jacobs, Bruce Weber and Patrick DeMarchelier, alonside their assistants. The book had 6 sections:Designers, Editors, Stylists, Beauty, Photographers and Models. <3

LV x Murakami book

LV and Murakumi are coming out with a deluxe edition of Louis Vuitton: Art, Fashion and Architecture. Murakami is to design the book with 400 pages of pictures and essays about LV's collabos. It is to hit stores todya and is featured at Fashion's Night Out. <3

One of my favs, Dita Von Teese is writing a beauty book and will come out in about a year! She's releasing all her secrets from her hour glass figure to her porcelain complexion and her classic look. Wouldn't I love to know. <3

He has his makeup line, and now for back to school he's making the books. As season 4 winner of Project Runway, he has managed to brand himself to the best of his potential. I stumbled over this book which takes a look at the life of Coco Chanel, the legendary fashion icon. It's basically about practical life lessons for women of all ages based on Chanel's philosophy. Written by Karen Karbo, the new type of self help book includes style, money, success, passion and loving/living life being as a woman. So why not read the book, even TIME magazine said she was the only fashion icon in the Top 100 Most Influential People of the 20th Century. <3

One of the blogs I follow is The Sartorialist. Well believe it or not, Scott Schuman, the master behind the street & fashion photography is coming out with a printed book August 12th. There will be a paperback version and a limited edition hardcover. Hew will also e doing a book signing. The wonders of a camera and a blog! <3

Lauren Conrad has created a novel named LA Candy. It is mainly base on the life of reality TV. Everything isn't what it is cut out to be as an A-Lister. It's about the truth on bitches, backstabbers and boyfriends along with wealth. People are thinking that this story is about her life off of camera. Hmmm.. <3

book review: Skinny Bitch

So remember a few posts back I blogged about the book Skinny Bitch? Well I went out to get it and have discovered it's pretty much everything I know! But it is indeed really convincing to get off your ass and eat healthy. They make you grossed out about the processes that you wouldn't think that food goes through. Basically though, in order to be a skinny bitch is to be a vegan. So that means not beef, pork, chicken, eggs, dairy. They are saying to get all your nutrition from all natural all organic foods and soy products. You can't even drink coffee with soy, but rather green tea. AH. I kinda started today I mean I think I'm going to take things step by step, but overall I'm pretty healthy. If you are in need to get that beach body, read the book. I don't know if I would buy it. Basically it is common sense and they say so in the book! The two on the left are the skinny bitches who wrote the book. <3

Skinny Bitch

Skinny Bitch is a book about eating right for all you women out there. I haven't picked it up yet but I want to. My friend was giving it such praise that I'm dying to just run out to the bookstore and pick up my own copy! It's a "no-nonsense, tough-love guide for savvy girls who want to stop eating crap and start looking fabulous!"

The book is all about hearing the truth rather than shoveling junk food in your mouth and expect to lose weight. The book is written by Rory Freedmanand Kim Barnouin who help you to make educated food decisions. They may be bitches but they are skinny bitches at least. Rory Freedman was a former agent for Ford Models and Kim Barnouin, a former model with a Masters in Holistic Nutrition. <3
