au revoir

It's been three years since I have started blogging, and I absolutely love it. It gives me the freedom and the ability to express myself through words and pictures. Although being nicknamed China Doll and using it as my blog title, I feel like it's time for a new image, and a fresh start.

Thank you to the followers who have been there from the beginning. You have seen me grow through my blog and find my way. Since this is a new chapter of my life, I am ready to move onto the next level.

With this said, I am starting a new blog titled Style Borough. I hope you continue to read my posts, and I would love to hear your feedback!

It's been a pleasure.

wine & dine

Vintage blazer. H&M crochet dress. Wilfred silk shorts. Vintage shoes.

This weekend was a wild one. Exams were completed for the semester and it was a long weekend. What else would be better than to get together with good company and catch up with some old friends.

Went to the new Hapa Umi which I wasn't very fond of. Well the food was delicious, but the prices weren't so yummy, and the service wasn't marvelous either compared to the usual Hapa Izakaya. But regardless was in good company. Went out all three nights and had a blast. Hope your Easter weekend was equally as fun! ♥

Wear the Fairytale

On Saturday night I went to my friends gorgeous jewelry event, Wear the Fairytale. I've mentioned about her BUN collection before. I love love love her intricate work and she's blowing up more than ever! She has designed a necklace for Lady Gaga and Lady Starlight as well, and is making a name for herself globally.

(far left for Lady Starlight, center for Lady Gaga)

I even got to try on one of my favourite ones at the event named Berlioz, part of the Tutu Collection. It's so simple and every so wonderful!

(BUN herself, and I)

For her next collection she will be making one for bed, because she ALWAYS loves having jewelry on. Congrats to your success Carola! ♥

shop before the shop

Aritzia is blowing up more than ever, and it makes me proud to be apart of it and watch the Company grow! We have opened up our location in Soho. That's right, Soho in New York. Such an amazing achievement. Aritzia couldn't have picked a better location on Broadway and Spring! I want to be there NOW! ♥

Happy 2011! I'm apologize once again for missing in action. I've had such a busy holiday with working, catching up with friends, and spending time with my family. I hope you all did the same and took a break from your regular to step back, relax and do those things which you couldn't do during the rest of the year. I have missed my computer as I have hardly touched the thing which is pretty sad I must say. My favourite gifts this year were: my Marc Jacobs watch and my dress form.
I hope you got everything that you wanted for Christmas, kissed the right person on New Years and created some measurable resolutions for yourself. Wishing you the best year ahead. <3

i ♥ the bloody beetroots

On Friday I went to the Blood Beetroots show. It was pretty good I'd have to say. It was a randomly, planned out night but it worked. Those nights are always the best anyways! When their mix of Warp came on by Steve Aoki, the crowd went wild. It made the entire night! Met up with lots of people I haven't seen in a long time so it was lots of fun. Little reunion, drama free time. Made me miss those hardcore party days. <3

what shall I wear today: monster ball edition

Gaga ooh la la! Went to Lady Gaga's Monster Ball last night if you couldn't tell! It was splendid! Full of excitement and props just what I expected. But none the other she had some amazing costumes and videos between her performances. The cinematography was amazing. She was in full force, yellow hair, 6 inch heels and a crazy getup for each song. Now that's a show. I absolutely loved when she sang Speechless. She said that it was about her father the drunk in a nice clean version of what she actually said. I also loved how she played the piano too. You can definitely tell she loves the attention and the FAME! I'll probably post up some pics of the concert later!

Last I went to the Monster Ball and wore:
White shirt (a creation of my own)
Zara Sailor Shorts
H&M blue and white striped blazer
Pull up tights with a garter
A giant black bow from F21
Aldo black combat shoes

baby you my everything

Tuesday night, I went to the DRAKE concert! I went with the bf and two others. It was such a good night. So we got there and found our seats. I was so excited I didn't look at the actual section number. Rather I looked at the seat numbers. Number 50 to 54. We sat down and our seat were the second to last row on the first floor. But since it was at the Centre of Performing Arts, it was a pretty small but intimate concert, compared to Rogers Arena.

Anyhow, we sat down and then these 4 girls came and were like these are our seats. The usher ended up telling us that our seats were down more. So we kept walking until it said row C which was our actual seats. Meaning we were in 3rd row!!!!!! It was amazing and it was so close! It just blew how all the people ran up from the back into the aisles. Oh well. I have clip of him singing best I ever had. You can see how freaking close we were, but it doesn't justify it.

Overall, Drake is a really good performer BUT his opening acts blew. He is better looking in person. He brought up a girl on stage and made out with her too. Ah well, same thing every night when you're famous. That's all their into anyways. <3

me without my phone = trauma

Yesterday morning, I woke up happy as ever. I had a presentation for school and work later. I had some updates which needed to be done on my phone, so I accepted them. While this was happening I finished getting ready and went back to my phone.

All of a sudden, the start up screen just kept flashing over and over again. I took out the battery and powered on the phone. It kept doing the same thing!!! It wouldn't go past the HTC start up screen. My life was incomplete, and I'm not even as involved as my friends are with their phones!

I went to lunch with my Mom and she gave me her phone to switch my sim card which I was ever so grateful for. By the time I got home, I had googled the problem. I felt like such a tech nerd, going through the motherboard or whatever it's called on the phone, BUT I fixed the problem and although it erased some people off my contacts and the apps I downloaded, my phone works!!! haha the things technology does to us! <3

it's only up from here

Yesterday was such a busy day. Seriously though. I had school and had to wake up at 7am, then had an intense workout, worked on a project right after, then had to head to work. At work I just had a bad day and we ended up getting out past midnight, an hour and a half almost longer than we had to stay. I just wanted to be home, showered and snuggled up in bed.

So I finally got home past 1am and then found this amazing package with my name on it! I've been waiting for this for so long! I ripped open the packaging and there was a brightly spray painted box wrapped up. My Time-Peace watch came! So stoked.

Then when I woke up, I was surprised by my sister with a Harajuku Lovers black tin pencil case. I needed one so badly too. Plus, it's the weekend and I'm going to Cirque du Soleil and the Aquarium! <3

I've been so sick and still sick with strep-throat and the flu!! I have been in bed since Thursday!! Not my ideal way to spend 30 degree celsius weather!
